Juliana Huerena National Advisor for Self Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE) and Administrative Assistant of SABE GoVoter Project a collaboration with National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) Juliana has been a strong supporter in the Self Advocacy movement in Arizona. Her work includes People First of Arizona and the Youth Action Council of Arizona where she provided technical assistance and training related to civil rights. She serves as manager of the advisory committee reviewing resources for the Self Advocacy website and Think Tank. Her most recent is the SABE GoVoter Project where she provides technical assistance related to the distant learning webinar series and the GoVoter Tool Kit. Alternatives to Guardianship project as project manager of logistics development of the training manual and she is a member of the National Coalition on accessible voting. Juliana served as the Coordinator for the My Technology Handbook that empowers individuals with disabilities on the use of technology. In addition, she serves on the UMASS Youth Voice, Youth Choice: National Youth Resource Center on Alternatives to Guardianship project as project manager of logistics development of the training manual. After 47 years working with families, individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages and other professionals, she is now approaching retirement. Her passion and commitment continue by teaching and supporting voters with developmental disabilities by working on the Self Advocates Becoming Empowered ( SABE)GoVoter Project.
